Sri Maha Lakshmi is the Goddess who grants both worldly prosperity as well as liberation from the cycle of life and death. The word Lakshmi is derived from the Sanskrit word Lakshya, meaning (aim) or (goal). Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual.

Embrace Sri Lakshmi-Narayana for Fulfillment and Protection!

LORD Srimannarayana, is the cause of all causes. Lakshmi Devi always resides in his chest area as light as bright as the light originating form Sun. Serving the divine mother and Lord: Sri Lakshmi – Narayana is the duty of one and all.

One must surrender to the divine couple Lakshmi Narayana, as it is our prime duty as they are the ones to fulfill our wishes and protect us at all times.

To attain the blessings of Lord Narayana, one must first get blessings of divine mother Lakshmi. She is the one who will take us the Lord. To do so, she incarnates along with the Lord whenever he incarnates in different forms. As the Lord takes innumerable forms, similarly mother also takes innumerable number of forms. However, we have the tens forms of Lord that are prominent, similarly, divine mother’s has eight different forms of wealth & prosperity. They are known as Ashta Lakshmis. Divine mother in each of the forms represents different kinds of wealth and prosperity, residing always in the chest area of the Load. She grants and fulfills the wishes of the devotees.

I) Adi Lakshmi:

The first form of divine mother in the form of Adi Lakshmi, adorns lotus flowers shines with eternal beauty. She has two lotus flowers in both her hands and the mother of all the worlds. She acts as the treasure for all the devotees.

II) Dhana Lakshmi:

In this form, divine mother shines as Sun and has Bilva tree as her temple, while being with Load Sri Maha Vishnu, with nine different treasures in her hands, she gives darshan as Dhana Lakshmi, granting us abundant wealth.

III) Dhanya Lakshmi:

To remove difficulties of devotees, mother appears in the form of Dhanya Lakshmi. She has four hands, where the two upper hands have food grains and the lower hands show abhaya hastham. She grants us all sorts of prosperity and abundant food grains.

IV) Santhana Lakshmi:

In this form, the divine mother grants us good progeny.

V) Aishwarya Lakshmi:

The daughter of the king of milk ocean, decorated by beautiful golden jewelry and shines in golden color. In this form, she grants the eight forms of wealth & prosperity without any limits.

VI) Gaja Lakshmi:

Residing on lotus flower, Gaja Lakshmi is always showered with ganges water by ashtadiggajas with their trunks. Gaja Lakshmi who is extremely wealthy, removes all sorts of difficulties to her devotees when prayed to her in devotion.

VII) Veera Lakshmi:

 Sitting on a great elephant with sankha, chakra, sword etc weapons and removing all enemies, with a wonderful smile, she removes all the enemies of her devotees.

VIII) Vijaya Lakshmi:

She resides on a great simhasana studded with diamonds and is always served by devata women. She grants all kinds of good & auspicious things and being the queen of Sri Maha Vishnu also grants us all victories.

We are fortunate to have Ashta Lakshmi Temple of Greater Chicago, which houses all Ashta Lakshmis along with Lord Srimannarayana to bestow us with prosperity, wealth, health, and knowledge. We encourage everyone to take part in the service of Ashta Lakshmis along with Lord Srimannarayana to be blessed and to endow with prosperity and spiritual progress.  The temple services will start from Navaratri of 2023September/October). The priest services will be available for devotees starting from  Sri Subhakrut Ugadi ( March 30th ,2023)  Sri Rama navami day !
